The following are major rail accidents in Belgium since 1960. On Oct. 4, 1967, 11 people were killed in a train accident in a town around 40 km from Brussels. On Aug. 15, 1974, in the Walloon region of Luttre, about 50 km south of Brussels, 18 were killed and 48 others injured in a train accident.
